Stranded Commuters Demand Urgent Action On Oweto-Otukpo Road

Stranded motorists and passengers stuck for several days along the Oweto-Otukpo road have called on the Federal Government to urgently repair the road and other deplorable Federal roads in Benue State.

The commuters who lamented the deplorable condition of many Federal roads within the State said, the condition of the roads have made travelling unappealing.

The Abuja-Oweto-Otukpo road has beed blocked for days as a trailer carrying food items broke down on the narrow road.

This also affected the road leading to Agatu local government area of the State, making the newly inaugurated council chairman Melvin Ejeh to resume late for work.

Business owners who were counting their losses as a result, want the Federal Government’s urgent intervention as the poor road conditions directly affect their livelihood and family wellbeing.

The incident brings to light other failed federal roads within the country’s food basket like the Makurdi-Naka-Adoka roads, which commuters want the Federal Government to urgently reconstruct to ensure safety and facilitate economic growth.
