Plateau Police Command Assures Residents Of Adequate Security During LGA Elections

The Plateau State Police Commissioner, Emmanuel Adesina has assured the people of the State of adequate security during and after the October 9th local government elections.

He made this known during a meeting with stakeholders ahead of the Council polls scheduled to hold on October 9, 2024 across the 17 Local Government Areas and 207 wards of the State.

Adesina said the State Police Command is going to deploy men to all nooks and crannies of the State in other to forestall any breakdown of law and order.

The Comptroller of Immigration in Plateau State, Grace Ukwangu warned foreigners resident in the State not to participate in the election as that will amount to an offence.

Some of the stakeholders present at the meeting called on security agencies in the State to be extra vigilant and for the electoral umpire to be transparent.

At the time of filling this report, the Police had commenced the deployment of men and resources to the 17 Local Government Areas for the election duty.
