A group known as the North Central Youth for Governance has called on the acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Umar Damagun to step down to allow a member of the party from the North Central geopolitical zone complete Iorchia Ayu’s term as National Chairman.

The group made this known in Makurdi Benue State’s capital.

The debate regarding the completion of term of the former National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party PDP Iyorchia Ayu by a member from his geopolitical zone has continued in earnest.

Northcentral youth for Governance led by Emmanuel Hangeior says their stance stems from the need for the main opposition party to uphold equity and fairness in order to effectively represent Nigerians amidst challenges caused by the ruling All Progressives Congress APC.

The Group wants the former Senator representing Benue North East district Gabriel Suswam to be given the party’s number 1 position.

For the pressure group, it is time for the acting National Chairman of the party to step aside.
