Acting President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Aliyu Issa has disclosed plans by the Nigerian government to put in place 100 units of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) conversion kits free of charge in each state of the Federation to ease conversion process from petrol powered vehicles to CNG compliant vehicles to bring down the high cost of transportation in the country.
Issah who also disclosed that states like Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, and FCT have started receiving the free Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) kits said government has also entered into agreement with capable conversion agents to handle the conversion process with ease.
The presidential initiative on compressed natural gas is the government organ driving the process of deepening the CNG gas policy of government following the removal of fuel subsidy in 2023.
