Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno says his administration is working towards building a petroleum depot in the state.

Governor Eno said this at the inauguration of a Petroleum Monitoring Committee and the board of the security trust fund in Uyo, the state capital.

Despite having Nigeria’s biggest oil and gas output, Akwa Ibom state does not have any national oil and gas installation like a petroleum refinery or depot and this has led to incessant shortage of supply of petroleum products in the state.

At the inauguration of the Petroleum Monitoring Committee, led by Godwin Ekpo, Governor Umo Eno said that he is working towards addressing the anomaly.

The Board of the Security Trust Fund headed by legal icon Paul Usoro, was also inaugurated and the Governor charged its members to ensure that the state continues to remain peaceful.

Chairmen of the Committee and Board promised not to let the Governor down.

Members of the committee and board were drawn from major stakeholders in the petroleum and security agencies.
