Edo State Governor-elect Senator Monday Okpebholo has expressed his gratitude to the people for their support in the September 21 governorship election.
He said he lacks the funds to compensate everyone who contributed to his victory but is committed to transforming the state for the benefit of all.
Okpebholo made this known during the All Progressives Congress “thank-you” celebration in the Edo South senatorial district.
After holding thank-you parties in Edo Central and North senatorial districts, Governor-elect Senator Monday Okpebholo, his deputy Dennis Idahosa, and prominent APC members, including Senator Adams Oshiomhole, gathered in Edo South for the final victory celebration.
Party leaders took the stage one after the other to express their appreciation to the electorate for their overwhelming support for the APC candidate.
Okpebholo reiterated his commitment to the transformation of Edo State.
Former Governor Adams Oshiomhole encouraged APC members to warmly welcome anyone wishing to join the party.
The APC Chieftain visited the palace of the revered Benin monarch, Oba Ewuare II, to present the certificates of return issued by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Oba Ewuare II expressed his gratitude for the visit and congratulated the newly elected.
Special prayers were held for the governor-elect and his deputy as they prepare to assume office in the coming weeks. This marks the second visit by Okpebholo and his team to the traditional ruler since his victory in the governorship election.
