Bodybuilding: Nigerian-Born Samson Dauda Wins Mr Olympia

A Nigerian-born bodybuilder representing the United Kingdom, Samson Dauda, has won the 2024 Mr. Olympia.

Dauda made history as the first bodybuilder of Nigerian descent to win Mr Olympia competition.

Mr Olympia is a yearly international bodybuilding competition by professionals.

The 60th edition of the Mr Olympia contest took place in Las Vegas Convention Center in Nevada, United States.

He defeated 17 competitors including two former champions, Derek Lunsford of the USA and Hadi Choopan of Iran.

Hadi Choopan won the runner-up spot, while the 2023 champion Derek Lunsford secured the third position.

As the competition winner, Dauda went home with a cash prize of $600,000, championship belt and a trophy.

Andrew Jacked, another Nigerian who also took part in the competition finished fifth.
