Bandits k!ll abducted Kebbi district head

Bandits have k!lled the abducted district head of Kanya District, Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State, Alhaji Isah Daya. LIB reported that the traditional ruler was abducted alongside nine members of his community on Saturday, October 5, 2024.  Security agents, including troops, on Tuesday rescued the remaining victims from bandits.  The spokesman for the State Police Command, Nafiu Abubakar, who confirmed the development in a statement on Tuesday evening, said Dayas body was discovered in the bush. Acting on credible intelligence and given the determination and resilience of the combined team of policemen, military and members of the vigilante, eight victims of the kidnapping incident of October 6, 2024, at Kanya District of Danko/Wasagu LGA of Kebbi State, have successfully been rescued unhurt on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at about 1000hrs, at Sakaba forest after a gun duel, the statement read.  “The rescued victims have since been reunited with their families after medical attention at the General Hospital, Sakaba. “Regrettably, while the search and rescue operation was ongoing, the dead body of the district head of Kanya, Alhaji Isah Daya was found in the forest. Given the foregoing, the Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, CP Bello Sani, is using this medium to condole with the Kebbi State Government, the Zuru Emirate, the immediate family and well-wishers of the late district head of Kanya, and prays that his gentle soul continues to rest in Jannatul Firdaus.” The statement further said the CP solicited members of the public to provide the command and other security agencies with relevant information that would assist in arresting the perpetrators of the dastardly act.  The post Bandits k!ll abducted Kebbi district head appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
