ALGON Elects New President, Bello Lawal At NEC Meeting In Lafia

Bello Lawal has emerged as the new President of the Association of Local Governments in Nigerian (ALGON).

Bello Lawal is the current Council Chairman Of Kaita Local government in Katsina State, who now succeeds the out gone President, Aminu Mu’azu Maifata, the Chairman of Lafia Local Government Area, Nasarawa State.

The new ALGON President emerged following an election conducted by ALGON members at the organisation’s National Executive Council (NEC) meeting held In Lafia, the Nasarawa State capitol, this Tuesday.

Bello who commended the NEC for deeming him fit to serve, assured the organisation that he will give his best to further their course given the recent Supreme Court judgement granting autonomy to Local Government Councils in the country.

He appealed for cooperation among members to drive the objective of the association to a desirable end.
