Rivers LG Polls: Aggrieved Youths Condemn Police Move To Destabilise Exercise

A cross section of Rivers youths have condemned the alleged move by men of the Nigeria police force from zone 6 to destabilise activities at the headquarters of the Rivers State Independent electoral commission on the eve of the October 5 council poll.

The youths in their hundreds also slammed the security agencies for taking sides in the run up to the election and called on President Bola Tinubu to call the inspector general of police to order as the political slide is capable of truncating the peace in the state under the watch of governor Siminalayi Fubara.

They promised to lay siege on RSIEC headquarters until the electoral exercise is concluded and urged Rivers people to come out in their numbers to exercise their civic responsibility.

The youths queried the Peoples Democratic Party PDP for creating unnecessary tension in the state after the chairman of the party publicly declined participation in the election
