Osun State Gov. Adeleke Flags-off Tree Planting Initiative To Combat Climate Change

As part of efforts to combat the devastating effects of Climate Change, the Osun State Governor, Sen. Ademola Adeleke on Thursday flagged-off the planting of over Six thousand trees across the State.

The Governor said at the event that the tree planting initiative is part of his administration’s broder efforts at mitigating the effects of climate change in Of sun State.

Governor Ademola Adeleke who was represented by the State Commissioner for Environment and Sanitation, Hon. Adejoorin Mayowa explained that the ‘Igi Alafia Imole’ project is aimed at arresting the menace of climate change which has exposed the State to excessive heat in recent times.

He said, the State Government in collaboration with a private body is working together to address the environmental impacts of the climate change.

The State Government however warned residents to avoid any action which could be hazardous to the trees.
