Nigeria Hydrological Service Agency, Again Warns states Of Imminent Flood

The Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency, NIHSA has again urged states along Rivers Benue and Niger water ways to put urgent measures in place so as to curtail imminent flood situation that may arise due to steady increase of water in River Benue.

NHISA in a statement said, the water levels at the nation’s critical stations along the river Benue showed a steady increase towards flood levels.

It appealled to Nigerians to clear their canals, drainages and gutters to mitigate floods .

The Agency had previously informed Nigerians of planned release of water from Lagdo dam in Cameroon at the rate of 100 cubic meters per second , which will gradually increase to 1000 m³/s over the next few days.
