NEMA Donates Fertilizers To Plateau State Farmers

In its bid to assist farmers affected by communal clashes and improve food security In the country, the Nigerian Emergency Management Agency NEMA has donated liquid fertilizer totalling forty one thousand five hundred and twenty two litres to Plateau State

The Director General of the Agency Zubiada Umar said the donation is under the national food security council agricultural aid for states affected by attacks in 2018.

The Director General represented by the Director planning, research and forecasting Onimode Bamdele said the program which commenced in 2020 was however put on hold due to some challenges.

He explained why the Agency opted for liquid fertilizer instead of the NPK previously supplied.

Receiving the fertilizer consignment , the plateau state governor Caleb Mutfwang appreciated the gesture, and assured that it will be put to judicious use.

The donation of the fertilizer is coming at a time when farmers in the state are getting set for dry season farming and will go a long way to improve their yields .
