Nigeria’s Interior Minister, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has ordered an immediate investigation into the levelled allegations of bribery and corruption within the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS).
According to a statement released on Wednesday, the Minister condemned what he described as reprehensible behaviour, emphasizing that indiscipline, unprofessionalism, and corruption in whatever guise will be met with zero tolerance and severe consequences.
The statement also says the Minister has set up a special investigative team headed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Magdalene Ajani, to probe the allegations and submit a comprehensive report with the assurance that the investigation will be rigorous, transparent, and impartial and appropriate disciplinary measures meted out where deemed fit.
