Oyo state Governor, Seyi Makinde says he will continue to fight poverty and not the poor in the state.
Governor Makinde stated this at the official ground breaking ceremony of the upgrade of the Samuel Ladoke Akintola airport, Ibadan.
The Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport is getting a facelift as Oyo state Government is upgrading the airport facilities from domestic to international standards.
Governor Seyi Makinde who could not hide his joy announced the approval of ₦41 billion for the first phase of the upgrade of the Airport, to international standard as he reaffirmed his desire to fight poverty in the state.
Osun state Governor, Ademola Adeleke who was a special guest at the event, described Governor Makinde as a true achiever and promised to partner the Oyo state Governor to explore areas of mutual benefits for both state.

According to some speakers at the event the project when completed will boost the state’s economy tremendously.
The upgrade will include the expansion of runways, modernized passenger facilities, provision of Jet-AI Tank Farm, facilities for aviation fuel, enhanced security measures, and expansion of dual carriage access road to the airport, among others.
