Newnaija Fuji music lovers were thrown into a heated debate recently after Taye Currency made a surprising statement about the early days of Fuji legend Pasumaโs career that he was copying Obesereโs style of music.
In a now-viral video, Taye Currency claimed that Pasuma, one of Fuji musicโs most beloved figures, was copying the sound of another Fuji giant, Obesere, when he first started singing.
According to Taye Currency, Paso only later found his own unique sound, but he was copying Obesereโs style when he just got into the Industry.

This statement didnโt sit well with many Fuji fans, especially loyal followers of Pasuma. They quickly took to social media to express their disagreement, accusing Taye Currency of disrespecting the veteran artiste.
โThis is a lie, I have a fan of Paso for almost 25 years and he never for once sounded like Obesereโ one fan wrote on Instagram, while others accused Taye Currency of trying to stir unnecessary controversy.
Fans of Pasuma continue to defend their icon, maintaining that his sound has always been original, despite Tayeโs bold claim.
