Manchester United defender, Noussair Mazraoui, is set for a spell on the sidelines after undergoing a heart procedure, ESPN reports.
Mazraoui was taken off during the half-time of United’s 0-0 draw at Aston Villa on Sunday.
He then withdrew from the Morocco squad ahead of the international break due to heart palpitations.
Mazraoui has now undergone a corrective procedure and is expected to be missing for a number of weeks.
Club sources insist Mazraoui’s condition is “relatively common”, while the operation has been described as “minor.”
Mazraoui was sidelined for three months while playing for Bayern Munich in 2023, after suffering from heart-related complications due to COVID-19.
