The People’s Democratic Party PDP has rejected the final declaration of APC’s Monday Okpebholo as winner of the Edo state governorship election.
The state collation agent for the party, Tony Iyoha registered his position shortly after the result from the last local government area was submitted According to him, the results from two local councils of Oredo and Ikpoba-Okha were deliberately delayed to alter the figures.
He asked INEC to suspend the declaration and return of Okpebholo to allow for a review.
But the APC described the allegations as baseless, saying their win reflects the true feeling of the Edo people towards the PDP.
The APC state collation agent, Jarret Tenebe said the party and the Governor-elect remains focused on the demands of governance following its victory.
