The new Commissioner of Police in Ebonyi State, Anthonia Uche-Anya has decried the rising rate of Youth restiveness in the society, as well as the flagrant way Youths take the laws into their hands in recent times.

CP Uche-Anya who was addressing her first town hall meeting with stakeholders since assumption of duties in Ebonyi State Command, South East Nigeria, notes that the increasing incidents of mob action, burning and destruction of property to settle scores of perceived enemies involving youth is worrisome and needs to be urgently addressed.

She revealed that since taking over office about two weeks ago, cases of Youths taking laws into their hands have been alarming.

Uche-Anya is urging both traditional rulers and Chairmen of Local Government Areas as well as Community leaders to collaborate with the Police in providing timely information and assisting the law enforcement agencies by undertaking public advocacy at their respective communities to stop people, especially the youths in the rural areas from taking the laws into their hands.

The new Ebonyi State Commissioner of Police assures the people that she would always maintain neutrality in the discharge of her duties while requesting the stakeholders to always report promptly incidents of conflicts in their localities to Security agencies.
