Team Delta has emerged champions of the 8th National Youth Games for the second consecutive time.

The state won 46 gold, 31 silver, and 34 bronze, totaling 111 medals, and was declared winner at the closing ceremony held at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, on Thursday.

They were closely followed by Team Lagos with 26 gold, 20 silver, and 19 bronze medals, while the third position went to Team Edo with 18 gold, 13 silver, and 28 bronze medals.

Delta hosted the 7th edition of the Games and topped the medal table with 51 gold, 34 silver, and 11 bronze medals.

They have now won all editions of the National Youth Games from 2016 till date.

Meanwhile, 35 states, including the FCT, won medals, excluding Ebonyi State, unlike last year when it was about 27 states, while Rivers is the only state that failed to participate.
