Benue Repositions Sanitation Agency To Check Flooding, Others

As part of measures to check incessant flooding and other environmental hazards occasioned by poor waste disposal, the Benue State Government has taken steps to reposition its Environmental Sanitation Agency BENSESA.

General Manager BENSESA Jennifer Nashima who made this known at the agency’s headquarters in Makurdi the State capital said, the State Government is making plans to extend the restructuring to the local government areas in the State.

The General Manager says the agency is renovating dilapidated structures to serve as office accommodation and is equally repairing articulated trucks and other vehicles to enhance operations.

Sensitization of the public on sanitation laws is another area of focus for the agency.

She said measures are in place to provide public mobile toilets to address concerns of open defecation and urination which has now become an issue of global concern.
