Bandits attack churches in Southern Kaduna, k!ll three worshippers, abduct pastor and 30 others

Bandits launched an attack on two churches during service in Bakinpah-Maro community, Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, k!lling three worshippers.  It was gathered that the gunmen in large numbers, targeted an ECWA and Catholic Church around 10 a.m. on Sunday, September 15, 2024.  Former Chairman of Kajuru LGA, Cafra Caino, confirmed the incident, stating that 30 persons were kidnapped, including Pastor Bernard Gajera from one of the churches. The terrorists attacked the churches during service, killing three people and abducting many others. The community is in shock, and we urge the authorities to take immediate action to rescue the kidnapped victims, he said.  The incident has left the community in a state of fear, with many calling for increased security measures to protect lives and property.  We urge the government to take decisive action to address the security challenges in our community. We cannot continue to live in fear of bandits and kidnappers, a local resident said.  Another  eyewitness, who crave for anonymity,  described the attack as horrific. When the bandits arrived in large numbers, many worshippers fled the church. It was a horrendous sight.
