Former Real Madrid manager, Fabio Capello has picked Manchester City midfielder Rodri as the favourite to win the 2024 Ballon d’Or.
The former Los Blancos boss highlighted how the defensive midfielder did well in all the three major competitions he played.
The competitions include the Premier League, Champions League, and the 2024 European championships which he won with Spain.
Capello, who spoke with Il Corriere della Sera, opined that Rodri was the best player last season.
The Italian said via One Football, “I’d award Rodri for his performances in the Premier League, the Champions League, and the Euros. He was the best this season.”
Rodri himself previously told the Daily Mirror, “I would love for a defensive midfielder like myself to win it.”
