Newly elected 21 Local Government Areas Council chairmen and their deputies in Anambra State, have been inaugurated at a ceremony in Awka, the State capital on Thursday.
The new Council leaders are to serve a two-year tenure, becoming the first democratically elected governments at the grassroots level, after about ten years of such administration in the State.
Governor Chukwuma Soludo while congratulating the officials on their electoral victories, charged them to take the security and development of their respective Local Government Areas seriously.
He warned that, it is not a position for self serving, as all hands must be on deck to achieving a peaceful and prosperous society.

The new LGA administrators were elected at the Saturday, September 28, 2024, polls held in the 21 Local Government Area Councils and 326 Wards of Anambra State.
