In preparation for the Edo State off cycle election on Saturday 21st of September, the Inspector General of Police,IGP Kayode Egbetokun has ordered the restriction of all vehicular movement on roads, waterways, and other forms of transportation from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Election Day.
According to the Force Public Relations Officer ACP Olumiyiwa Adejobi who briefed journalists on the latest development and plans towards the election, said exceptions for movement will be for those on essential services, including accredited media, electoral officials, ambulances, and emergency responders.

Furthermore, the IGP has mandated that special attention should be given to individuals with disabilities, pregnant women, nursing mothers, the aged, and those with mobility challenges, ensuring that polling stations in both urban and rural settings are accessible to all.
He however assured of a comprehensive Security measure that will ensure a peaceful, transparent, and credible electoral process on Saturday.
