Former Liverpool midfielder, Peter Cormack, is dead.

Cormack died at the age of 78.

The Reds made the announcement in a statement via their website on Friday.

“Liverpool FC is deeply saddened by the passing of former midfielder Peter Cormack, aged 78,” Liverpool’s statement read.

“The thoughts of everyone at Liverpool FC are with Peter’s family and friends at this very sad and difficult time.”

Cormack was signed by legendary manager Bill Shanky.

He was a key figure in the Liverpool team that dominated English football in the 70s
