64th National Day Nigerians visit tomb of PM Tafawa Balewa in Bauchi State

As part of the 64th Independence celebration of Nigeria, some residents of Bauchi State paid homage to tomb of Prime Minister, Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa who was one of the country’s founding fathers.

While at the grave side, they prayed for the repose of his soul as one of Nigeria’s leaders who struggled for the country’s freedom in 1960, and urged other leaders to emulate his life.

The 64th celebration of the Independence was peaceful as confirmed by Bauchi State Police Public Relations Officer, Ahmed Wakili.

AIT.live observed that, the celebration was peaceful with no report of any breach of peace as some youths were also seen waving the Nigerian national flag.

Other residents also used the period to call on Nigerian leaders to provide good leadership for the masses following the current hardship being experienced in the country.
